The Show - Liveblog!

One catwalk. 25 inspiring models. One purpose.

Join us backstage on Wednesday 7 October at Breast Cancer Care's fashion show fundraiser at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. The Show features 25 models, who have all experienced a diagnosis of breast cancer, who take to the catwalk in front of celebrity guests, hosts and supporters. As well as raising money for the charity, The Show demonstrates that it is possible to regain your confidence and look fantastic after a diagnosis of breast cancer.

…and they’re off!

The first models have taken nervously to the stage!

It really is a fabulous show, if you weren’t able to make it this year and would like information on next year’s show you can visit the website or email natalie.wing@breastcancercare.org.uk.

And now, the end is near…

Brit Award singer, Beverley Craven, who herself has experienced a breast cancer diagnosis, has just started singing to the Great Room at Grosvenor House and that’s my cue to end the evening (well, maybe I’ll get roped into clearing up…).

It’s been a fantastic evening here, truly inspiring… we’ll have more pictures and a full write up tomorrow, here on the same site and also on Breast Cancer Care’s daily newsblog - which you can view on our website.

OVer and out for now… thanks for reading…

I’m hearing that the auction, hosted by Jeffrey Archer, has raised over £120,000 for Breast Cancer Care… amazing… a HUGE thank you to all our sponsors and those who donated prizes…

Here’s our first set of pictures from the first catwalk collection…

A huge thank you to…

Yvonne, Carole, Ivy, Sue, Lisa, Pearline, Katey, Emma, Rebekah, Fiona, Olivia, Clive, Janice, Amanda, Gisela, Jude, Kate, Sharron, Maria, Rebecca, Heather, Carol, Pauline, Rebecca and Annette.

Well done from all of us.

Well done…

…to all of our models. The catwalk show was touching, it really is inspiring to see our models beam with pride and happiness. There were tears, high fives, little dances and even a banner - which a table of friends and family had managed to sneak in in support of one of our models, Carol.

I clearly got carried away myself. Somehow I managed to take over 200 pictures in about 25 minutes. I really want to share these with you and the rest of the world - they looked incredible, happy and full of pride.

We’ve also had plenty of tears - we had an emotional moment with host Gail Porter and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Breast Cancer Care, Jane Hinnrichs, has just given a speech dedicated to the spirit of our models, explaining the importance of fundraisers like tonight.

Jeffrey Archer has just taken to the stage, as he starts an auction… but I’ll try and get some pictures up as soon as I can… I want to share them with the world!

I’m off in preparation of this Evening’s catwalk show… I can’t wait to see our beautiful models smiling proudly again… I’ll be back with some more photographs as soon as I can…

Breast Cancer Care supporters, Geri Halliwell and Lisa Snowdon were great to have in attendance tonight.

There was a particularly lovely moment when they ventured backstage about an hour before the evening’s catwalk show. They wanted to take time out to chat and talk with our models and calm their nerves before they strut their stuff on the stage.

Our models, who have all experienced a breast cancer diagnosis, seemed really happy to see them.

Cherie Booth QC meets the press with presenters from our generous broadcast partner, QVC; TV presenter Georgie Thompson also smiles for the cameras.

TV!

Apparently the Fashion Show was featured on London Tonight at 6pm? Did anyone see? It’s a shame we’re still working… we didn’t get to see it!

Breast Cancer Care patron, Geri Halliwell, also came out to support Breast Cancer Care’s London Fashion Show, to wish the models luck before they take the stage later tonight.
