...and they're off!
The first models have taken nervously to the stage!
It really is a fabulous show, if you weren’t able to make it this year and would like information on next year’s show you can visit the website or email natalie.wing@breastcancercare.org.uk.
And now, the end is near...
Brit Award singer, Beverley Craven, who herself has experienced a breast cancer diagnosis, has just started singing to the Great Room at Grosvenor House and that’s my cue to end the evening (well, maybe I’ll get roped into clearing up…).
It’s been a fantastic evening here, truly inspiring… we’ll have more pictures and a full write up tomorrow, here on the same...
I’m hearing that the auction, hosted by Jeffrey Archer, has raised over £120,000 for Breast Cancer Care… amazing… a HUGE thank you to all our sponsors and those who donated prizes…

Well done...
…to all of our models. The catwalk show was touching, it really is inspiring to see our models beam with pride and happiness. There were tears, high fives, little dances and even a banner - which a table of friends and family had managed to sneak in in support of one of our models, Carol.
I clearly got carried away myself. Somehow I managed to take over 200 pictures in about 25 minutes. I...
I’m off in preparation of this Evening’s catwalk show… I can’t wait to see our beautiful models smiling proudly again… I’ll be back with some more photographs as soon as I can…
TV!
Apparently the Fashion Show was featured on London Tonight at 6pm? Did anyone see? It’s a shame we’re still working… we didn’t get to see it!

Well, that was truly an experience. I never really traced the idea of how a newspaper appears in a picture before, but after covering the photo wall for the past hour, I now really have an idea of what the celebrities put themselves through every time they attend a function…

Singer Paloma Faith is our first celebrity to arrive for the evening show and the reaction of the photographers is unbelievable. Instantly ‘the pen’ turns into a shouting match and competition to shout the loudest… can they get her to look at them and get the best picture?

Downtime
It’s like the venue has had it’s alarm clock set to snooze. Our afternoon guests have gone and they seemed like a particularly jolly bunch; everyone seems to laughing their head off at some joke or another.
But while everyone takes a breather, I suppose it’s a good time to tell you what and who to expect in the evening show.

The downpour of rain outside the venue is not exactly great for our celebrity arrivals… They’re due to start arriving in about an hour’s time…

Afternoon Show
The first of our two fashion shows are about to get underway at 2.30pm and I can tell you our models are looking fantastic. Guests are taking their seats, the kitchen is warming up, the music is playing and the MC is about to formally open proceedings.

Everything's moving up a gear at Grosvenor...
…as everyone gets ready for the Afternoon Show. Our models are having their hair and make up done. Celebrities and members of the press are arriving; they’re snapping away with their cameras in the reception room. Staff get changed into their evening dress.
True story - I even just saw one of the Grosvenor House doormen picking balls of fluff from the carpet. Now that’s...

Tomorrow night, Wednesday 7 October 2009, 25 models who have experienced a diagnosis of breast cancer will take to the catwalk at London’s Grosvenor House hotel, in Park Lane, as Breast Cancer Care host The Show.
